I first rode horses the length of both the North and South Island of New Zealand when I was 25 years old. During this 6 month ride I fell in love with this beautiful country and its friendly people.

For a decade I enjoyed maintaining her own small flock on Dartmoor and I have always been fascinated by the many breeds of sheep around the world. This little book of New Zealand sheep combines my interest in sheep farming with my passion for the dramatic back drop of New Zealand's magnificent landscapes and offers an insight into the sheep farmer's way of life.

  My mum was born at Chudleigh &. I have been a regular visitor to Devon since I was born . We had an old farmer friend at Chudleigh who had spent time in New Zealand in his younger days on a farming exchange.  My cousin lives in Newton Abbot & I have often seen your Dartmoor calendars for sale in Choice Words when I have been down .
