Swaling takes place on Dartmoor before the end of March each year. If it stops raining long enough for the land to dry out a little, the farmers who have grazing rights on the moor burn off areas of gorse to make room for new growth for their livestock.

The extraordinary Charge of Beersheba

One hundred years ago, 800 ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand) cavalry made history, when they courageously charged with their horses through the desert and captured Beersheba in Palestine. It is know as the last successful cavalry charge in history. Photographing this reinactment set the stage for my own journey on horseback through Israel.  Keep an eye out for my exciting new book which will be published later this year!
